Hospitality Management Certificate
Saint Joseph’s University’s Hospitality Management Certificate is a 12-credit program designed to focus on the food service industry within the hospitality business. Building on Saint Joseph’s world-leading expertise in food marketing, this certificate is centered on customer service and marketing within the hospitality industry. It allows for networking between hospitality students and professionals across the entire food supply chain.
This program is designed to develop and build specialized hospitality knowledge and enable current and future professionals to become more competitive in the job market, more attractive for promotions and offer new opportunities in the hospitality industry. Entrepreneurs in this space can upskill their businesses no matter where they are in the supply chain.
What Sets Our Program Apart

The hospitality certificate offers students the flexibility to choose the format that works best for their schedule and learning style. We offer an online or an on-campus format in this program.
Online Learning Option
The online format meets virtually one night per week during the eight-week course and the remainder of the work is completed on your own time. Work at your own pace by choosing one, two or three courses per term. To learn more about taking classes online, check out our online learning resources.
Hybrid Learning Option
The on-campus courses are held on one Friday and one Saturday during the eight-week class, with the remainder of the work completed online.

The credits you earn from the hospitality management certificate can be applied toward a Master of Science in Food Marketing or a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Food Marketing from Saint Joseph’s University. Students who successfully complete the certificate program with a GPA of 3.0 or higher can then take 24 additional credits to earn an MBA in Food Marketing and 18 credits to earn the Master of Science in Food Marketing.

This certificate combines academic insights with industry focus, showing you how to apply class material in a way that is relevant to the food industry. Our faculty have all worked in the food industry, allowing them to draw connections between the material and the way the industry operates.

As a hospitality management student, you will have access to special lectures and networking opportunities through Saint Joseph’s University’s Academy of Food Marketing.
Additionally, Saint Joseph’s Career Center offers a host of resources including resume review, interview prep, on-campus career fairs and interviews, workshops and networking events.

Applicants for the hospitality management certificate will be required to provide evidence of completion of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
