Alexandra Snyder, ’20

As the National Group Sales Manager, I head a team of new business representatives who sell both group experiences and B2B packages – most of my representatives are straight out of college and looking to break into the sales world. I also help our team develop new fan experience packages across all four regions of NASCAR owned tracks.

I found the position on Teamworkonline.com. I applied and then flew down to Daytona for an interview.

My Sponsorship Sales class with Gene Wisniewski really pushed me into going into Sales. The partnership project was incredibly useful as it allowed me to realize the importance of B2B sales, and how those sales can escalate into something bigger. SJU gave me the opportunity to get into the sport industry because we have alumni who work at all of the local sport organizations. My sports business classes with Dr. Lord really pushed me to go get that hands-on experience that many students are looking for.

While at SJU, I had 3 internships in the sports industry: Premium Sales & Service with the Flyers, Ticket Sales & Service with the Phillies, and Event Operations with the Philadelphia Union. My roles at each internship were vastly different. I think it’s important to try different things so you can get your foot in the door. The one thing that all 3 internships had in common is that I had to interact with season ticket holders, which is how I find my niche of wanting to be in sales.
