Recent Saint Joseph's graduates Jorden Concordia and Sydney Rose are among the nominees for the prestigious NCAA Woman of the Year Award. The two Hawks are among 17 student-athletes nominated from Atlantic 10 Conference institutions.

Named Atlantic 10 Goalkeeper of the Year and selected to the A-10 All-Conference First Team this past April, Concordia helped backbone Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team over the past three seasons. Transferring to Hawk Hill as a sophomore, the Webster, New York native helped the Hawks to three A-10 Championship appearances, including the program's first conference title and NCAA appearance in 2022. A three-time A-10 All-Conference selection, she became just the second Hawk to eclipse 500 saves in program history, holding three of the four highest save totals in single-season history for St. Joe's. Fourth all-time in program history in ground balls (138), Concordia became the first Hawk in program history to be named to the 2024 Tewaaraton Watch List for the best college lacrosse player in the country, and was named an All-American Honorable Mention by USA Lacrosse.

One of the top sprinters in Saint Joseph's track and field history, Rose has etched her name in the Hawks' record book numerous times over her four-year career. Individually, Rose holds the program record in the indoor 60m, ranks second in the outdoor 100m and is among the top-10 in both the indoor and outdoor 200m. The Watchung, New Jersey native has also run key legs as a member of both the team's record-setting 4x100m and 4x200m outdoor relay teams.

The 17 institutional nominees have been recognized for exceptional athletic prowess, leadership skills, academic success, and service to the respective communities. Each candidates have noteworthy credentials, earning All-Conference awards, participation in postseason competition and academic honors, both form the A-10 and on a national scale. A complete list of the nominees, their sport, hometown and academic studies are included below. A full profile of each candidate will be shared on Atlantic10.com.

One of the most prestigious NCAA awards, the Woman of the Year Award was established in 1991 to celebrate the achievements of women in intercollegiate athletics. Now in its 34th year, the NCAA Woman of the Year award honors graduating female college athletes who have distinguished themselves in academics, athletics, service and leadership throughout their collegiate careers.

Per the NCAA, all conference-level nominees are advanced to the Woman of the Year selection committee. The selection committee will choose the top 10 honorees in each division. From among those 30 honorees, the selection committee will determine the three finalists in each division. Finally, the members of the Committee on Women's Athletics will vote from among the top nine finalists to determine the 2024 NCAA Woman of the Year. The top 30 honorees will be honored, and the 2024 NCAA Woman of the Year winner will be announced this fall.
