SJU GREEN DOT
"No one has to do everything… but everyone has to do something."
What’s your Green Dot?
A campus-wide prevention program that empowers students, faculty and staff to prevent violence before it occurs.
What is SJU Green Dot?
SJU Green Dot is a comprehensive prevention program that teaches individuals how to prevent violence before it occurs. Green Dot is being used by universities, organizations and communities across the United States and abroad.
We know too many individuals experience power-based personal violence, and it’s been happening for too long. The goal of SJU Green Dot is to reduce the number of people who experience violence—and the research tells us that we will be effective in doing so.
It is our solid belief that if we want to prevent violence, we need to get as many people on board as possible. No matter who you are, you can be a part of the solution. No one has to do everything… but everyone has to do something. What’s your Green Dot?
INFORMATION FOR
How Do I Get Involved?
Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to attend a Green Dot Overview. This is not another mandatory program; it’s probably unlike anything you’ve seen. Attendees will leave with concrete things they can immediately do to reduce violence in their daily spheres.
What is a "Green Dot"?
Power-based personal violence is not a solid mass that can be removed with one swift action or policy; rather‚ it is the accumulation of individual choices.
