Ilana joined the Center for International Programs in fall 2019. Prior to working at SJU, Ilana coordinated faculty-directed summer programs at Arizona State University. Ilana is a proud Terp, earning both her BA and MA at the University of Maryland, College Park. Ilana’s master's degree is in International Education Policy with a focus on education abroad. Ilana also began her career in international education at her alma mater, where she worked in the Education Abroad Office in a few different roles.
Ilana studied abroad for a semester in Seville, Spain, for a summer in Jerusalem, Israel, and on a Spring Break program in Havana, Cuba. She also spent a year teaching English in Madrid, Spain through the Auxiliares de Conversación program. Ilana’s experiences studying, working, living, and traveling abroad brought cross-cultural understanding and personal growth. She is excited to help SJU students have similarly transformative experiences on faculty-led study tours and summer programs!
