I had 3 internships as a student on Hawk Hill. I spent two summers in public accounting and then one in private accounting. I was unsure what I wanted to do with accounting, so after my second summer as a public accounting intern, I felt I needed to gain private exposure to see what I really wanted in life. After gaining that exposure in private accounting doing tax, I realized that what I’m called to do in life will be best if I pursue audit and understand the language of the business first. Both internships brought many positives but helped narrow down what I wanted to truly do.
