Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
What is BYOD?
Bring your own device (BYOD) initiative requires students to bring personally owned computing and mobile devices onto the campus to access Saint Joseph's resources.
What is required for BYOD?
All students are required to have a fully functioning laptop during each class.
Students who are utilizing a PC or Mac must meet the following minimum requirements for their device. Please note, iPads, tablets, Chromebooks and “Windows S Mode” are not supported due to software compatibility and should not be purchased/used on campus.
Technology Requirements
- WiFi capable
- Up-to-date operating system: Windows 10 or 11, or Mac OS X 10.15 or later (64-bit processor)
- Latest vendor-supported versions of an internet browser: Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Edge
- Up-to-date antivirus/malware software
- Webcam and microphone
We recommend that laptops are no more than two years old and include a screen that’s at least 10” or bigger. Laptops purchased in the last two years are most likely to meet the minimum requirements.
