The Department of Allied Health offers degree programs in sonography, cardiovascular and surgical technology, nuclear medicine technology, radiography and respiratory care.

Saint Joseph’s University’s Associate Degree in Cardiac Sonography offers the opportunity to expand your knowledge in the fast-growing field of cardiac sonography. As a graduate of this associate program, you will receive the preparation necessary to become a cardiac sonographer or echo technologist in a hospital or outpatient center.

Saint Joseph’s University’s Associate Degree in Cardiovascular Technology will prepare you for a career in treating ailments related to the heart and blood vessels. This program also offers the preparation necessary to take the Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) exam which is required to become a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist.

Saint Joseph’s University’s Associate Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography is designed for students who do not currently hold a college degree. Upon completion of program requirements, you will be eligible to take the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) examinations in physics, abdomen and obstetrics/gynecology.

Saint Joseph’s University offers the only Associate Degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology of its kind in Central Pennsylvania. This associate degree program will provide you with the skills and preparation necessary to become a successful nuclear medicine technologist. You will learn how to take diagnostic images of nearly every system within the body as well as how to operate sophisticated equipment to help doctors diagnose and treat illness.

Saint Joseph’s University’s accredited Associate Degree in Respiratory Care will provide you with the skills necessary to diagnose and treat pulmonary problems affecting the lungs. This program also provides the preparation necessary to sit for the Therapist Multiple-Choice (TMC) Examination and Clinical Simulation Examination (CSE).

Saint Joseph University’s Associate Degree in Vascular Sonography provides the preparation necessary to become an entry-level vascular sonographer. You will learn how to perform vascular exams on the veins and arteries throughout the body. Upon completion of program requirements, you will be eligible to take the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Sonography Principles & Instrumentation (SPI) and the ARDMS Vascular Technology Exam (RVT) board exams. You are also eligible to sit for the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) exam.

Saint Joseph’s University’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography Certificate is designed for students who hold a college degree. Upon completion of the program requirements, students are eligible to take the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) examinations in sonographic physics, abdomen and obstetrics/gynecology. This 40-credit certificate program can be completed in as little as one year.
