Pre-Health Post-Bacc Certificate

The Pre-Health post-baccalaureate program at Saint Joseph's University is designed for students who are pursuing admission to medical, dental, optometry, veterinary or podiatry programs. You will take the core science courses required for admission to these graduate and medical schools and will be prepared for their entrance exams.

What Sets Our Program Apart

  • The pre-health program focuses on the core science courses required for admission to these schools and is useful for taking admission exams such as the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), Dental Admission Test (DAT) and the Optometry Admission Test (OAT). Courses include science lectures and labs as well as math, social science and theology classes.

  • When you enroll in the program, you have access to our pre-health advising resources to connect you to medical, veterinary and dental schools in Philadelphia and across the country. 

  • Saint Joseph's Pre-Health post-baccalaureate program is open to students who are enrolled as a traditional undergraduate or who already have a bachelor's degree and are returning to school as an adult learner. 

    Up to two courses may be transferred to Saint Joseph's to be used toward the certificate requirements.

Designed to prepare you for admission to graduate school to pursue a career in medicine or the sciences, the pre-health program graduates go on to become:

  • Graduate applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. Adult learners may enroll in courses during the fall, spring or summer semesters.
