Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA)

The Executive Mentor and Engagement Series provides the opportunity to attend guest lectures and take part in working sessions with top CEOs, CFOs and COOs from across the region. You will also have access to one-on-one sessions with an experienced executive coach who will help develop and enhance your leadership style.

The EMBA program incorporates an international residency which gives students a deeper understanding of the managerial, political and cultural concepts that influence and drive international business.

In addition to the core curriculum, you can stack a specialized certificate onto your EMBA that is tailored to your career goals. Experience the EMBA cohort model through 12 core courses, plus three online electives of your choosing to earn an EMBA + 1 Certificate. Through the combination of EMBA’s cohort model and the online electives, you will develop a professional skill set grounded in ethics, teamwork and leadership.

Saint Joseph's EMBA faculty are experts in their fields, bringing theory, practice and relevance to the classroom. Our small, dynamic classes allow for discussion, reflection and collaboration.

We’ve designed our EMBA program for the working professional. Flexibility is built-in so you can balance work, family and all the other commitments of a busy life. Classes meet online one evening each week as well as one weekend per month (Friday/Saturday) from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you are traveling from outside of the Philadelphia region, a hotel room will be provided, and breaks are scheduled between each semester.

Academic advising, customized support and career counseling are all part of our commitment to your education. The Leahy Advising Center is available to assist you in every step of your EMBA journey, providing the resources and support to ensure your lifelong career success. Additionally, the Career Center offers a host of resources such as resume review, interview prep, on-campus career fairs and interviews, workshops and networking events.

To be considered for admission you must have a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution and have earned an undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

An EMBA stands for executive master of business administration. It is designed for senior executives, managers and directors who seek to enhance their leadership skills and knowledge in financial management, investment analysis, data analytics/data science, marketing and more.

12-Month: A rigorous, accelerated program designed for students with at least five years of professional experience and an undergraduate degree in business.

16-Month: Designed for professionals with at least five years of work/managerial experience who studied an undergraduate major outside of finance and accounting.

• 12-month program: 30 credits and three semesters
• 16-month program: 36 credits and four semesters

MBA Foundations ensure you have the body of knowledge required to participate in the EMBA program. These 100% online competency modules should be completed at the beginning of your studies and can be taken at your own pace.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics, the median annual salary for chief executives is $179,520. Graduates of Saint Joseph's EMBA program have gone on to pursue careers with Vanguard, Wells Fargo, Penn Medicine, VWR International and more.
