How to Apply
To be considered for graduate admission at Saint Joseph's University, you must have:
- Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university
- Completed application packet (see below for details)

- Official transcripts for all credits earned, undergraduate and graduate
- Two letters of recommendation*

- Personal statement
- A well-organized essay answering the prompt: What are your career and educational goals?
- Application fee of $35 for masters, certificate and doctoral level programs
- Official GMAT or GRE score *for some programs (must be taken within last seven years, see below)
**Please note that Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology/Toxicology programs require three letters of recommendations.
There may be different or additional requirements for the following graduate programs:

- Master of Occupational Therapy MOT
- Master of Physician Assistant Studies MSPAS
- Doctor of Occupational Therapy DrOT

Some programs require standardized test scores.
Graduate Business Program requirements and information:
- Official GRE or GMAT score
- Must be taken within the last seven years
- In lieu of GMAT/GRE scores, students may be waived based on
- professional work experience
- academic excellence
- licensed in the United States as a CPA, CFP, CFA, PMP
- earned a terminal degree (Ph.D., M.D., D.O., J.D., DBA, etc.)
- earned a master’s degree (M.S., M.A., etc.) from an accredited, not-for-profit institution.
Graduate Education programs requirements and information:
Some graduate education programs may require proof of teacher certification. Contact the program director or admissions office for more information.

Application Deadlines
We offer rolling admission and enrollment for most of our programs. This means applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. New students may enroll in courses during the fall, spring or summer semesters.
Application deadlines differ for the following programs:
- Pharmaceutics MS/PhD and Pharmacology and Toxicology MS/PhD:
- Priority review for funding consideration for ALL applicants: March 1
- Please refer to the above program pages for additional deadlines
- Clinical Mental Health Counseling M.S. and School Counseling M.S. have an application deadline of March 1.
International Applicants

Application deadlines for international applicants seeking an F1 visa differ from those for American citizens, and are as follows:
- Fall Semester: June 15
- Spring Semester: October 15
Saint Joseph’s University fall and spring semesters are 14 weeks long. Summer Semesters I and II are each six weeks long, with classes meeting twice a week. International students may begin graduate business programs in the spring or fall semester.

Applicants should take note that the minimum language scores are as follows:
- 80 on the TOEFL IBT* **
- 8.5 on the TOEFL Essentials Test
- 550 on the written TOEFL
- 6.5 overall on the IELTS
- 60 on the PTE
- 105 on the Duolingo English Test
*For entrance into the Master's of Health Administration, Health Informatics M.S. or Health Education M.S. programs, applicants must have a minimum TOEFL score of 90.
**For entrance into Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, and Pharmacology/Toxicology programs, applicants must have a minimum TOEFL score of 90 or DuoLingo score of 120.
Completion of the ELS Language Center’s English Level 112, including a favorable letter of recommendation from an ELS Administrator, is accepted in place of a TOEFL, IELTS or PTE score. Click here for more information about the ELS Center at Saint Joseph’s University.

- An official course-by-course evaluation of undergraduate and graduate education
- Saint Joseph’s University receives the majority of credential evaluations through NACES members including World Education Services, Inc. (WES), Educational Credentials Evaluators (ECE) or Span Tran. Other Credential Evaluations will be accepted if accredited through NACES.
- Official TOEFL, IELTS or PTE scores (test must be taken within the last two years)
- Proof of ability to pay educational expenses from a bank, and an affidavit of financial support
- Two letters of recommendation*
- Professional resume
- Personal statement

Tuition and Fees
Graduate students pay per credit hour. Credit hours range depending on the program.
Financial Aid
Graduate students may qualify for grants, scholarships, fellowships, payment plans and student loans to help cover the cost of a Saint Joseph’s degree. Saint Joseph's also offers graduate assistantships with a generous stipend for many of our PhD programs.
We also offer special discounts for SJU alumni, employees of participating companies and those who completed a year or more of service with a qualified mission organization.
