Community Engagement
At Saint Joseph’s, health professions students find special opportunities to learn in many different environments — not just the classroom. This includes working with neighboring institutions and organizations in Philadelphia to make an impact on local patient care. Opportunities include:
- Pro-bono clinic: This clinic at our University City location provides free physical and occupational therapy services to the West Philadelphia community.
- Service learning: Saint Joseph’s offers health and science courses that have a service-learning. Courses taught have included Spanish for Healthcare Professionals, Occupational Therapy - Community Service Learning, Falls in the elderly, and Special Topics: Infection and Immunity.
