Syllabus Statements
Want to advertise our services as part of your syllabus? Find pre-written statements that you can easily cut and paste into your existing syllabus.
In-Class Tutor Introductions
Our talented tutors are the best spokespeople for our services. If you would like to arrange to have a tutor in your subject visit your class or classes to introduce our services, please email Assistant Director of Tutoring and Learning Support Coleen Bennett at cbennett@sju.edu. In-class introductions typically take roughly five minutes.
In-Class Workshops
We are happy to run workshops to help your students strengthen their learning strategies. Need to miss a class? Don't cancel! We have several standing workshop topics -- including The 6 Best Study Strategies of SJU Students, Tackling Time Management, and Should I Be Writing This Down? -- and we are always available to partner with you to customize your students' experience. Workshops can run anywhere from 30-75 minutes as per your needs. Learn more about workshops here.

Peer Tutoring
We offer peer tutoring in introductory courses in multiple subject areas. Not sure if your course is covered? Check the list of covered courses.
Supplemental Instruction (SI)
In select courses, we offer Supplemental Instruction or SI. As part of the program, an upperclassman SI Leader attends the target course, taking notes alongside the current students. They then use the information to plan and run two weekly review sessions, open to all students enrolled in the course. Learn more Supplemental Instruction (SI).
Learning Strategy Consultations
Sometimes, students need help with the process of learning, rather than with course content. From time management to textbook reading, we can work with individual students to strengthen their skills. Learn more about Learning Strategies.
