First Year Events
Orientation
Orientation is an overnight experience at Saint Joseph's University where incoming students meet new classmates, review academic requirements with an advisor, take a train into Philadephia for dinner and participate in field games on campus.
Day of Service
Held annually, the Day of Service is an opportunity for first-year students to come together and contribute to the greater Philadelphia area. Whether it is picking up a rake, shovel or simply using their muscle, students will be able to see first-hand the impact they can have on their community.
The event is on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Participants will work alongside other first-year students, upperclassmen, University employees and our community partner, "The Friends of Gorgas Park." Saint Joseph's calls us to live greater, and a Day of Service provides a unique opportunity to do so. We hope you will join us. If you have any questions, please email success@sju.edu.
Hawk Fest
HawkFest is a weekend filled with food, games, events and fun! It's a campus-wide celebration; anyone with a connection to Saint Joseph's is invited, from students and parents to alumni, faculty, staff and administrators.
Activities Fair
The Activities Fair is an opportunity for students to speak with members of the 90+ organizations on campus and get involved with and sign up for clubs/activities.
Christian Life Communities
Christian Life Communities (CLCs) are intentional student groups built on the pillars of faith, community and mission. Participants desire to deepen their awareness of self, others and God. Groups meet weekly for conversation, reflection and prayer, taking pause together in sacred space.
Groups are small and will meet weekly. If you have any questions, please email Fr. Doug at dray@sju.edu. Space is limited.
