Reynolds II Named Atlantic 10 And Big 5 Player of the Week
Saint Joseph's sophomore Erik Reynolds II has been named both Atlantic 10 and Big 5 Men's Basketball Player of the Week, organization officials announced on Monday.
Reynolds II capped the regular season in style last Wednesday as the starting guard matched his career-high with 33 points, and added five rebounds, two assists and two steals in an 83-67 victory over Richmond. Reynolds II, who went 10-18 from the field, 5-12 from three-point range and 8-8 from the line versus the Spiders, matched his career-best of 33 that he set on the previous Sunday at St. Bonaventure.
Currently leading the Hawks and ranking second in the Atlantic 10 in scoring at 19. points per game, Reynolds II became the first Hawk since Jameer Nelson during the 2002-03 season to record back-to-back 30-point performances.
The Hawks open play at the 2023 Atlantic 10 Championship on Tuesday against Loyola Chicago at 2 p.m.
