Dr. Joseph has a wealth of experience working with individuals in various settings and has a sound reputation for finding simple solutions to some of the most challenging situations. She started her career working within the community and clinical settings with adolescents who have co-morbid mental health and intellectual/developmental disabilities. Her experience has grown to include working with recreational programming, residential programs, crisis stabilization units, and in-home settings.
When presented with the task to develop and expand services within the Kinney Center, she did not hesitate. Dr. Joseph takes pride in providing peace of mind to families that their loved one will be an active participant in a safe, therapeutic, and structured environment.
She is affectionately called "Dr. J." (after basketball great Julius Erving) by her colleagues and clients due to her passion for the field and love for basketball. She excitedly reports that it is great when ones passion match the career that they choose. As a result, she enjoys fostering not only the development of youth, but growing professionals within the field.
She earned her Doctorate in School Psychology with honors from Duquesne University. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from St. John's University and a Master's degree in Science and Education in Child Psychology also from Duquesne. Dr. Joseph completed her applied psychology course work at Rider University and has obtained her Board Certified Behavior Analyst - BCBA Certification. Outside of her time at the Kinney Center, she enjoys spending time with her family in New Jersey and practicing as a licensed psychologist.
