5 Questions with Theresa McFalls
Theresa McFalls joined Kinney almost a decade ago and assisted with the planning and implementation of the ASPIRE College Support Program during its inaugural year. Since then, she has been involved with Kinney's High School Volunteer and Apprentice Programs. Through her work, Theresa has been able to provide students and families greater social and academic opportunities. Keep on reading to learn more about Theresa, Director of College Support.
1. What drew you to the special education/autism field?
Working with underserved populations has always been a passion of mine and I enjoy helping others achieve their goals to find happiness and success.
2. What is your proudest moment at Kinney?
My proudest moments at Kinney have been observing students achieve firsts: first friend, first date, first A, first job, and the list goes on.
3. What is on your professional wish list for the next few years?
Helping students achieve employment goals and working with companies to ensure success for our neurodiverse population.
4. What is one thing that surprised you about working at Kinney?
What is unique to Kinney, is the way that we continue to grow and respond to the needs of the families we work with and make innovative and creative programming around those needs.
5. What is your favorite activity to do outside of Kinney?
I recently started going to Irish dance classes which is something I haven't done since childhood and it has been a lot of fun!
