5 Questions with Victoria Priest
Victoria Priest returned to Hawk Hill in 2019 filling the Kinney Center's Web and Tech Specialist role. She has a passion for helping individuals with disabilities stemming from her love for her sister who is on the spectrum. Her previous work as Communications Coordinator for Variety - the Children's Charity of Delaware Valley and her connection to individuals on the spectrum gives her a unique lens in which to tell Kinney's stories via web and social.
1. What drew you to the special education/autism field?
When I was nine, my little sister was diagnosed with autism. It has been great to see the strides she has made since her diagnosis almost ten years ago! Growing up, I volunteered at the programs that my sister participated in and I learned more about autism. My college internship and my first job out of college were at non-profits that provided services to individuals with autism and other disabilities. I studied Marketing and International Business for undergrad at SJU and didn’t plan on working with individuals with autism, but now it is a path I wish to continue.
2. What is your proudest moment at Kinney?
My proudest moment at Kinney is creating a bond with our clients. I love when the clients come in my office for a conversation or tell me hello when they see me. My favorite parts of my day include interactions with our clients.
3. What is on your professional wish list for the next few years?
I would like to get my MBA!
