STAR Scholars has allowed me to fully explore my passion for both Accounting and Technology, while also developing leadership and problem-solving skills. STAR allows for a direct exposure to advanced programs such as SAP, Alteryx, and Tableau. My time in STAR has done more than just let me experience those programs, but also to apply my knowledge in the classroom to teach other students as well! I can accredit much of my professional growth and knowledge to my position in STAR.

What STAR Means to Me:
STAR is an extraordinary program providing students the opportunity to work with the different ERP programs that are used in the real business world. STAR allows its members to gain valuable experience with these applications unparalleled to any other organization on campus. Personally, I have been able to expand my network with different professionals within the industry and take these connections with me into my internship which greatly aided my overall experience. STAR also offers an excellent way to connect with a highly-intelligent and like-minded group of individuals here on the Saint Joseph's campus. As a member of this team, I can confidently say I am better equipped to be successful throughout my time in college as well as after graduation.

STAR is a great opportunity not only for me but also classes we work with. As the Accounting industry continues to innovate and utilize new technological advancements, the STAR program exposes me to everything from creative ways to use basic Excel functionalities to a variety of new data analytics software like Alteryx Designer and SAP. In the STAR program, I am not only able the work with my peers to facilitate technological innovation in the classroom but also carry this knowledge with me into my career as a professional.

My understanding of this technology, especially SAP, has yielded significant benefits during my internship where I applied my skills to various accounting software. It is also a pleasure to pass on the knowledge I have gained to fellow SJU students, better preparing them for a career in accounting.
