Saint Joseph’s University Summer Scholars Program provides support for currently enrolled undergraduates (and students in 5-year programs) to engage in research, creative writing, fine and the performing arts, and other scholarly endeavors alongside a faculty mentor.

BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES
The Summer Research Scholarship is a competitive funding opportunity that supports 8 weeks of summer research with a Biological Sciences Faculty. The funds provides a stipend of $4500 and $500-1000 funds towards research supplies. Call for applications are usually in January via department email. It is highly recommended for students who are enrolled in research to apply for these funds. It is required that the students receiving these scholarships present at USciences Research Day and at the Council of Undergraduate Research (CUR) Festival. PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES
Internal Sources:
A lot of undergrad research in Pharmaceutical Sciences are supported through the department budget. Limited funds are allocated to each faculty member to support their research . Students should directly contact faculty members.
MATH, PHYSICS AND STATISTICS
Internal Sources:Students should directly contact faculty members to determine if research funding is available. In the area of materials science, funding exists through grants from the National Science Foundation and the Kaufman Foundation (Contact Dr. Ramos).
External Sources:-
The Society of Physics Students offers undergraduate student research grants up to $2000, conference travel or reporter grants up to $200, as well as SPS leadership scholarships, and internships.

The Department of Energy has Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI) with a deadline typically in January of each year. Successful applicants get stipends of $500 per week.

NASA Summer Internships are available with deadlines typically in April of each year.
