A Soaring Cinephile
Brandon Tamburri, BBA ’16, began creating short films and scriptwriting at a young age. Now, he’s bringing comedy to South Jersey with his independent production company, Joke Zero.
Tamburri graduated from Saint Joseph’s with a major in entrepreneurship and a minor in film studies.
“Both programs immensely prepared me for life after graduation. I not only work as a filmmaker, but I also run my own production company,” says Tamburri. “I was able to take everything I learned about running a business and apply it to the film industry, which is my true passion.”

After several freelance jobs and a full-time position with NFL Films, Tamburri landed an opportunity to direct and produce several projects for National Lampoon and served as an associate producer on A24's horror film, “Hereditary.”
The first film under Joke Zero, “Plan B,” is written, produced and directed by Tamburri. “Plan B” was filmed in South Jersey in 2022, featuring an A-list cast including Jamie Lee, Jon Heder, Kate Flannery, Tom Berenger, Shannon Elizabeth and Vernon Davis. Tamburri and Joke Zero recently partnered with international sales company Premiere Entertainment Group, who will help bring “Plan B” to a wider audience sometime in 2024.
