Registration Checklist

Ensure a seamless registrstion by completing this Registration Checklist. If you have any questions, contact your advisor or Undergraduate Advising Support.

Considering a major change and/or adding a minor or secondary major? Take time to research your options in advance of registration. The Exploring Majors Guide offers advice and tips.
Some resources and actions to consider:
- Talk with your advisor, faculty who teach in your area of interest and/or the Advising Center about your interests and goals.
- Explore programs and requirements:
- Program Explorer
- Academic Course Catalog
- Course sequences for majors/minors
- Perform a "What if" analysis through DegreeWorks.
- Review the major/career exploration resources available through the Career Center.
- Consider taking a course in your field of interest during the fall semester.
Ready to declare new major, minor or secondary major?
- You can submit a major/minor form at any time, but it is recommended that you submit your form by a certain date to ensure that your request can be processed in advance of fall registration.
- You are also encouraged to contact the department chair of your new major or minor to obtain any major/minor restriction overrides you may need for registration.

Access your Student Profile to:
- Confirm that your student status permits registration
- Check for holds - resolve holds that will prevent registration:
- Financial Hold - Student Accounts
- Immunization Hold - Student Health Center
- Library Fines - Post Learning Commons & Drexel Library
- Confirm your Registration Time
To access your Student Profile:
- Log onto the Nest
- Click on the Students link in the top navigation
- Click on Access Student Profile
- Review registration notices and holds in the drop down menus in the upper right.

Plan your Courses
- Identify needed courses/requirements by reviewing:
- DegreeWorks
- Typical course sequence for your major
- Map out course options for next semester as well as future semesters.
- If you are considering a study abroad semester, talk with a staff person in the Center for International Programs.
- Submitting a request for a course overload or independent study? See the online forms page.
Build your schedule
- Check the Nest for the class schedule and availability. Use the Schedule Builder to create a tentative schedule for next semester. Always have backup plans in case your preferred course sections are closed.
- Prepare for your advising meeting with your faculty advisor – make a list of questions.
- If needed, your Advising Center can help with this planning.
- Identify needed courses/requirements by reviewing:

- Schedule a meeting with your advisor.
- Advisor contact information can be found on your Student Profile in the Nest.
- You also may be able to schedule an appointment through Starfish.
- Meet with your advisor to review your course selection and obtain your registration PIN (For HSB students - only if needed).
- Talk with you advisor about Experiential Learning opportunities for the coming semester or future semesters.
- Please remember that only your advisor can give you your PIN. Do not contact your Advising Center for your PIN.
- Verify that your PIN works prior to your registration day.
- Schedule a meeting with your advisor.

- Prior to your registration day, log into The Nest
- Click on Classes & Registration > Self-Service Course Registration > Register for Classes
- Select the term, enter your registration PIN & click continue
- If your PIN is correct > message will say it is not yet time to register.
- If you suspect there is a problem, contact your faculty advisor ASAP. Only your advisor can release your PIN.

- Registration times will be posted at least one week in advance of your registration date.
- Log onto the Nest
- Click on the Students tab in the top navigation
- Click on Access Student Profile
- Click on the Registration Notices drop down menu in the upper right to view your registration time.
- Register at your registration time or as close to it as possible - the longer you wait, the more difficult it will be to get the classes you want.
- Registration times will be posted at least one week in advance of your registration date.
