FERPA
FERPA, which stands for the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, is a federal law that offers parents the right to access their children’s education records, have the records amended and have some control over the disclosure of personally identifiable information from the education records. When a student turns 18 or enters a postsecondary institution (at any age), the rights under FERPA transfer from the parents to the student.
By completing and signing this FERPA form you are giving Saint Joseph’s University, through this department or office (or the individual from the department or office you specify), permission to share information from your education records over which they have control. If you are providing more than one office with authorization, a copy of this form should be provided to each.
