Department of Mathematics
The mission of the Department of Mathematics at Saint Joseph's University is to provide modern education in mathematics and related disciplines, with emphasis on both applied and theoretical aspects of mathematics.
Our program enables students to develop into careful, precise, and mature thinkers who can apply their knowledge and pursue a wide variety of careers. Students are not only trained in specific, practical mathematics skills that prepare them for a wide variety of professional career options, they are also exposed to cultural enrichment and experience research and independent work at the undergraduate level.
Our flexible curriculum prepares students to: analyze abstractions, think logically and clearly, apply what they have learned, communicate knowledge to others, and continue their lifelong education.
