Student Organizations
Business Information and Technology Society (BITS)
The Business Information and Technology Society (BITS) is a student-run organization for decision sciences, information systems and business intelligence and analytics students. Our goal is to foster a deeper understanding of data analytics and business intelligence.
We explore career opportunities by sponsoring networking events, on-campus guest lectures, field trips and classroom speakers. BITS maintains contact with local organizations that actively hire for summer internships, co-op, part-time and full-time employment. Participants will gain a wealth of real-world experience and applications to business intelligence and data analytics theories learned in class.
Tableau User Group (TUG)
The Tableau Users Group (TUG) is one of the first major groups featured in the analytics makeover world. Our group usually meets on select Mondays during the school year at 5:00 p.m. Often during these meetings, Saint Joseph's alumni from a variety of corporations will visit and walk visitors through a basic Tableau dashboard creation. Alumni often demonstrate how to pull graphics together, change scales, colors and duels axis, or will provide insight into their careers in finance, sports or other arenas, offering excellent networking and learning opportunities.
