Positions and Organizations

Can you explain your roles and responsibilities?

As an Orientation leader/coordinator, I am in charge of welcoming the new incoming class, organizing the summer program for incoming students and families, and advising and preparing students for the summer program.

My role as a resident assistant is to foster a welcoming environment for new and current residents, and engage with residents throughout one-on-one talks, programs and University events.

As president of the Latin Student Association (LSA), I organize events for the Hispanic community on campus. I create flyers for upcoming events, promoting through word-of-mouth and social media.

As a Kinney SCHOLAR, I work one-on-one with clients of different ages on the spectrum on specific goals and needs they have based on their Behavior Support Plan.

Why is it important to see women in leadership?

Having women in leadership shows empowerment. Women often do not get the same opportunity as men, so breaking that "trend" means a lot. As a woman, especially a Hispanic/Latina, it is important to me to show that we also can do the same things and are capable, as well.

Who is a woman at Saint Joseph’s who has inspired your leadership journey, and why?

Throughout my four years here at St. Joe's, Beth Hagovsky has definitely inspired my leadership journey. Her passion, drive and ambition when working with staff, working with students and her overall work inspires me every single day.

What challenges have you faced and how have you overcome them?

Like any other college student, I would say that stress is one of my main challenges I face. I lean toward self-care, taking a moment to myself and just breathing.

What is one quote or piece of advice that has stuck with you in your leadership journey?

To be myself and never rely on another person for my own success.
