SOAR Campaign Hits $200M

Saint Joseph’s comprehensive $300-million  SOAR Campaign launched in May 2021 with three priorities: $75 million for campus enhancements, $100 million to further academic excellence, and $125 million to support financial aid and scholarships.

As SOAR enters its third year with more than two-thirds of the campaign goal met, it is evident that the University community’s commitment to improving the student experience is unwavering.

Today, over $200 million has been raised toward the campaign’s goals.

The Impact of New Donors

The success of the SOAR campaign thus far has come from an encouraging source: new donors. A new generation of Saint Joseph’s supporters have come forward to make SOAR’s priorities a reality for the Hawks who will follow in their footsteps.

As a U.S. immigrant who had the privilege of earning a professional pharmacy degree from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy, I wanted to ensure that others could benefit from the same opportunities I had. This gift has helped me achieve that goal for future generations.

— Edgardo Mercadante, BS ’79, H ’17 $1 Million Endowed Scholarship through Life Insurance

Scholarship support has always been my highest priority. If a student is otherwise qualified, the ability or lack thereof to write a check for tuition should not get in the way of their receiving an excellent SJU education. I made a current-use gift because that takes care of today's students while my contribution to the endowment takes care of tomorrow's students.

— Lori Nicoletti Peruto, Esq., BS ’83 $25,000 Current-Use Gift Added to Endowed Scholarship

I graduated from St. Joe’s in 1960 and received an education that has been the foundation for my success. It only makes sense to give back to the place that has meant so much to me. It is so gratifying to see the positive impact Post Crossing will have on SJU students because, in the end, it’s all about them.
