University Launches Additional Career-Focused Certificate Bootcamps
The University continues to expand non-credit certificate programs with the launch of its first coding bootcamp and first clinical trial management bootcamp.
Saint Joseph's University announces its first coding certificate bootcamp and first clinical trial management bootcamp in collaboration with Stack Education. The interactive courses begin in June and will be held fully online.
“As we continue to expand our academic portfolio, we are choosing skills and industry partners that will help prepare students for future and in-demand careers,” says Cheryl McConnell, Ph.D., provost and vice president for academic affairs at Saint Joseph’s University. “The newly introduced programs enhance our current continuing education offerings and will help address critical industry training needs.”
Recently, online coding bootcamps experienced 171% growth, outpacing in-person programs, according to data collected by Course Report, a website that provides reviews and industry research on coding bootcamps. Students accepted into the bootcamp program will be taught full-stack coding fundamentals by experienced industry practitioners, and will develop technical solutions on a project for an existing company, gaining real work experience and receiving valuable feedback and mentorship along the way.
According to a recent analysis, there are signs that clinical trial demand has been increasing with average compound annual growth in monthly job posting activity of 9.3% across all clinical research positions. Students accepted into the clinical trial management bootcamp program will be taught the fundamentals of good clinical practices, clinical site management and site monitoring. The curriculum, designed according to the standards of the two major professional societies for clinical trial management, will be taught by experienced industry practitioners. Successful graduates will have the ability to contribute to the running of effective, efficient and ethically compliant research that determines the benefits, effects and risks of new and existing drugs, devices and medical procedures.
Stack Education, a Boston-based education company that works with higher education institutions to provide STEM-based certificate bootcamps to reskill the 21st century workforce, will implement the programs at Saint Joseph’s.
“Saint Joseph’s serves as a pillar of learning for the Greater Philadelphia community and Mid-Atlantic region and we are eager to help give adult learners the skills they need to change or supercharge their careers in the most in-demand industries,” said Peggy Yu, CEO of Stack Education.
