SJU to Host Foreign Journalists Covering Presidential Election

What: Fresh from their attendance at the final presidential debate at Hofstra University the previous evening, more than 25 foreign political editors, journalists and correspondents touring the U.S. to learn about American elections will visit Saint Joseph’s University. The group will attend a lecture on the 2008 presidential campaign as well as a panel about the way the media reports the political process featuring members of Philadelphia print and electronic media. The tour is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.

When: Thursday, October 16, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Lecture: 1 – 2:15 p.m. Meet and greet: 2:15 – 2:45 p.m. Panel discussion with questions from floor: 2:45 –3:30 p.m. Informal discussion: 3:30 – 4:00 p.m.

Highlights: Journalists from Africa, Europe, Asia, South America and Oceania covering the 2008 U.S. presidential election for their respective outlets will converge on the Saint Joseph’s University campus to meet and interact with SJU students, faculty and members of the Philadelphia political media.
