Saint Joseph’s Ranked No. 5 by ‘U.S. News & World Report’
In addition to its best-ever ranking in the Regional Universities North category, Saint Joseph's also earned high marks for Best Value Schools, Most Innovative Schools and Best Colleges for Veterans.
Saint Joseph’s University has been recognized as a leader in higher education, ranking No. 5 in U.S. News & World Report’s Regional Universities North category. The ranking is a top-five first for SJU, and its sixth year in a row ranking in the top 10 for this category.
While rankings are a compilation of several indicators, Saint Joseph’s saw a significant rise in its student outcomes score, a testament to the preparation students receive to excel beyond the classroom. Peer assessment is an important factor in the rankings calculation, and the University’s score remains high year over year; this is confirmation that the University’s peers see Saint Joseph’s is leading in academic quality and navigating the higher education landscape.
“These rankings are a testament to the University’s persistent growth and commitment to furthering academic excellence,” says Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs Jean McGivney-Burelle, PhD. “From transformational classroom experiences with faculty mentors to real-world experience in co-ops, clinicals and internships, our students are prepared to excel in the real world and they have the resumes and know-how to prove it.”
The University was also ranked No. 20 for Best Value Schools North, No. 16 for Most Innovative Schools North and No. 2 for Best Colleges for Veterans North.

For the seventh year in a row, The Princeton Review named Saint Joseph's University a top college, with additional recognition in the Best Mid-Atlantic and Best Green Colleges categories.
Saint Joseph’s was once again named one of the Best Colleges in America by Niche, including top 20 callouts for Best Value College in PA and Best Catholic Colleges in the Nation.
For the first time, Saint Joseph’s is ranked in the Top 50 Best Colleges in the Nation by The Wall Street Journal, landing a callout at No. 42.
Saint Joseph’s earned a top-five first on U.S. News and World Report’s list of Regional Universities North; SJU has ranked in the top 10 six years in a row.
