PHILADELPHIA (February 9, 2018) – Employers from a variety of industries and fields will be represented at Saint Joseph’s University’s spring 2018 College of Arts & Sciences and Haub School of Business Career Fair. The event, set for Thursday, Feb. 15, gives students the opportunity to meet and network with over 200 potential employers in finance, retail, marketing, advertising, government and the nonprofit sector.
The Career Fair, which will be held in the Casciato Basketball Practice Facility in Michael J. Hagan ’85 Arena from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., is the culmination of a weeklong effort to polish students’ resumes and interview skills, including all-day resume reviews on Monday, Feb. 12, in the Post Learning Commons atrium, Mandeville Hall lobby and Career Development Center (CDC), located behind the Maguire Wolfington Welcome Center.
“For students seeking internships or full-time positions, the Career Fair is a great way to get the job search started,” says Trish Shafer, executive director of the CDC. “The employers in attendance are actively seeking talent for their organizations. For students unsure of what they want to do — freshmen and sophomores, especially — the Career Fair can be a great way to explore opportunities and make an impression on employers for potential future hiring. With 200+ employers in attendance, there is opportunity for students and alumni at all levels to advance their job search.”
Some of the major companies and organizations that will attend the Career Fair are Albert Einstein Healthcare Network, Berkshire Hathaway, Cigna, Devereux, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Johnson & Johnson, KPMG, Nestle, Peace Corps, Philadelphia Union Soccer Club, Philadelphia Police Department, QVC, School District of Philadelphia and Wawa. At the event, students can distribute their resumes, speak with professionals in their fields of interest and learn more about employment opportunities.
