Hawks Post Impressive Semester in the Classroom
Student-athletes boasted a 3.30 semester grade point average across 20 varsity programs during the fall semester, with 31 Hawks earning a perfect 4.0.
Saint Joseph's University student-athletes boasted a 3.30 semester grade point average (GPA) across 20 varsity programs during the fall 2021 semester. In total, 31 Hawks tallied a perfect 4.0 during the fall, helping boost the department's cumulative GPA to 3.33.
"I am exceptionally proud of our student-athletes for continuing to produce in the classroom," said Director of Athletics Jill Bodensteiner. "It's not an easy task to balance academics, athletics and the day-to-day challenges of being a student, but our Hawks continue to do it with great poise and diligence. The academic success of our student-athletes is also a testament to the great support staff in our Athlete Center for Enrichment, and the team cultures fostered by our head coaches."
Overall, 16 of 20 programs reached the 3.2 threshold, with six teams eclipsing the 3.4 mark.
Women's tennis led the 3.4+ group with a 3.55, followed by women's lacrosse (3.54), women's soccer (3.52), softball (3.51), men's tennis (3.49) and women's rowing (3.4).
