April is National Autism Awareness Month, a month committed to raising awareness and promoting inclusion of those affected by autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

Since its founding in 2009, Saint Joseph’s University’s Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support has been assisting individuals with ASD as they develop the skills necessary to lead their most fulfilling and independent lives. Throughout the month of April, the Kinney Center is spreading the message of awareness and inclusion by holding a variety of family-friendly events.

“Autism awareness events are an opportunity to show support for neurodiverse individuals,” says Theresea McFalls, interim executive director of Saint Joseph’s Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support. “These events exemplify the campus and surrounding communities' commitment to providing inclusive spaces and willingness to learn how to be an advocate. We have lots of fun in store throughout the month of April!”
