Kinney Center Autism Awareness Events
This spring, you can spread autism awareness by participating in the Kinney Center's schedule of events:

Love and Communication Film Screening
Director Jim Christy is coming to Saint Joseph's University for a film screening of his award-winning film, Love and Communication. Love and Communication features a young couple struggling with an autism diagnosis facing an uncooperative school district, unproven treatments and their own emotional disconnection as they try to do what's best for their son.
There will be a panel discussion following the screening featuring Jim Christy, Maria Vetter, and Dr. Wendy Ross. Light refreshments will be available before the screening during a Pre-Film Welcome Reception.

Sensory Friendly Museum Sunday
Enjoy a sensory friendly morning at the Frances M. Maguire Art Museum on Saint Joseph's University campus. Families can explore the museum at their own pace and participate in a special take-home art activity! Children's maps and activity guides are available to add to the fun. A designated quiet zone will be available at the museum during this event.

Kinney Center 15th Anniversary Celebration
Celebrate the Kinney Center's latest milestone by attending the Kinney Center's 15th Anniversary Celebration. The event begins with a shopping hour followed by lunch and a panel of students, caregivers and partners who will recount their experiences with achievement at home, school and in the workplace while navigating the intricacies of the autism spectrum.

Sensory Friendly Mass
The Chapel of St. Joseph will be hosting a Sensory Friendly Mass for the community. A social story and program will be available for families.

Book Talk with Author Brandy Schillace
Join us as we welcome Dr. Brandy Schillace to discuss her new novel, The Framed Women of Ardemore House. A sharp, savvy mystery about an autistic editor who inherits a crumbling English estate, only to find herself at the center of a murder investigation when a family portrait vanishes and a dead body turns up. Don't miss this opportunity for an intriguing discussion about the novel with the author.

Family Fun Day
The Kinney Center and the Saint Joseph's Chapter of the Eagles Autism Foundation are partnering up for Family Fun Day. This event will feature a petting zoo, snacks, bubbles and surprises from the Philadelphia Eagles!
