Environmental Health & Radiation Safety

The Environmental Health & Radiation Safety Department (EHRS) supports Saint Joseph's University mission of excellence in teaching, research and service by providing resources, effective programs and services to continually improve, reduce risk and help assure a safe working environment for all members of the University community. 

The primary responsibility of EHRS is to anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control occupational hazards by providing technical support, information and training programs, consulting services, periodic auditing of health and safety practices, which includes a commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, as well as University occupational and environmental standards.  

Important Information

EHRS has written policies, procedures, forms and guidelines that can be accessed in this EHRS website or in the Nest, in the Document Repository, with your SJU credentials. Additionally, to access the SJU Emergency & Crisis Management Plan/Pandemic Response Plan, emergency evacuation procedures, and other emergency resources from the Office of Public Safety and Security, please visit the Emergency website.

 

EHRS Training

To provide a safe working environment and comply with federal and state regulations, your job may require that you complete certain orientation or annual refresher training courses. Many training requirements are completed online through the MSDSonline Training System through the Employee page in the Nest. Follow this link to the on-demand training site to complete your safety training assignments:
