Saint Joseph’s annual Day of Dialogue will take place on Feb. 16, featuring a combined 100 hours of hands-on activities and action-oriented sessions focused on diversity, equity and inclusion.
Day of Dialogue 2022
Day of Dialogue took place on Wednesday, February 16th, 2022 beginning at 9:30 am. With over 2,000 members of our SJU community registered, it’s shaped up to be an amazing day!
The Day of Dialogue continues to build upon conversations about diversity, equity, and inclusion taking place throughout the campus community by providing practical, participatory, and action-oriented sessions. All are encouraged to attend and own their role in making our community more inclusive. This year’s themes include Allyship, Advocacy, Social and Environmental Justice, Health and Wellbeing, and more. The full list is below.

MORNING KEYNOTE
Dorothy Roberts
Topic: Racism in Medicine
Dorothy Roberts is the 14th Penn Integrates Knowledge Professor and George A. Weiss University Professor of Law & Sociology at the University of Pennsylvania, with joint appointments in the Departments of Africana Studies and Sociology and the Law School, where she is the inaugural Raymond Pace and Sadie Tanner Mossell Alexander Professor of Civil Rights. She is also the founding director of the Penn Program on Race, Science, and Society.

Leah Thomas
Topic: Intersectional Environmentalism
Leah Thomas is an environmentalist with a love for writing and creativity, based in Ventura, CA. She is passionate about advocating for and exploring the relationship between social justice and environmentalism.

Saint Joseph’s second annual Day of Dialogue attracted more than 1,700 attendees who explored topics like social justice and anti-racism in action-oriented sessions throughout the day. The event took months of planning and participation from students, faculty, staff and community members alike.
The day-long event encourages the University community to participate in conversations centered around diversity, equity and inclusion.
