Saint Joseph’s University Places in Top 10 of U.S. News’ 2013 Rankings

PHILADELPHIA (Sept. 12, 2012) - Saint Joseph’s University is again one of the top 10 – at No. 8 – among 193 master’s universities in the north in U.S. News & World Report’s 2013 edition of Best Colleges. The rankings, which were released on Sept. 12, placed Saint Joseph’s in the top tier in its region for the fifteenth consecutive year.
"Hawk Cash" Simplifies Commerce On and Around Campus

This fall, Saint Joseph’s University introduced the new Hawk Card, an enhanced identification card that grants access to essential campus services for students, faculty and staff and includes a new feature, Hawk Cash, a significant benefit for the University community.
SJU, Archdiocese Sign Letter of Intent for Purchase of the Cardinal’s Residence

<p>Saint Joseph’s University announced today that it has signed a letter of intent with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to acquire the 8.9-acre property at the corner of City and Cardinal Avenues known as the Cardinal’s Residence.</p>

Over the final weekend in August, freshmen and returning students moved into SJU's on-campus residences. Parents and freshmen were helped by SJU-Haul, a program consisting of volunteers from many of the University's student groups. New University President C. Kevin Gillespie, S.J. '72, handed out water each day.
"Live Greater: That's the Magis" Campaign Hits Campus

The annual Mass of the Holy Spirit, scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 13, takes on added meaning this year as the culmination of “Magis Day,” a 24-hour celebration of the University’s newly integrated marketing initiative. Branded Live Greater: That’s the Magis, the campaign made its debut in late July with a live campus event on NBC10 followed by a major television commercial blitz during the London Olympics.

The Haub School of Business and its Dean Leadership Program is partnering with The World Affairs Council of Philadelphia to host an event with award-winning journalist and bestselling author Tom Brokaw on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 6:30 p.m. at the Michael J. Hagan Arena on Saint Joseph's campus. Brokaw will discuss his latest book, The Time of Our Lives: A Conversation about America.

PHILADELPHIA (June 12, 2012) – For painter Laura Watt, pattern and color are old strategies of knowledge, calling viewers back to the Arabic tiles, Buddhist mandalas, Amish quilts and Scottish tartans of history. From Thursday, June 28 to Friday, Aug. 3, a collection of her work, titled “Depth of Illusion,” will be on display in Saint Joseph’s University Gallery.

PHILADELPHIA (July 2, 2012) – C. Kevin Gillespie, S.J., today assumed the presidency of Saint Joseph’s University. A Saint Joseph’s alumnus (’72), he returns to his alma mater after serving as associate provost for University Centers of Excellence at Loyola University Chicago.
