PHILADELPHIA (Nov. 2, 2012) — The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) has granted Saint Joseph’s University’s special education program the Autism Spectrum Disorders Endorsement for a four-course, 12-credit specialization. Saint Joseph’s University is one of nine select universities that have received this Endorsement from the PDE.
PHILADELPHIA (October 15, 2012) — Saint Joseph’s University officially inaugurated its 27th president C. Kevin Gillespie, S.J. ’72, on Friday, Oct. 12. The inaugural ceremony, held in the Michael J. Hagan ’85 Arena, was the culmination of a weeklong series of events. On hand to celebrate were more than 60 presidents and delegates from other colleges and universities, alumni, faculty, staff, students and Fr. Gillespie’s friends and family.

PHILADELPHIA (Oct. 8, 2012) - John Berberian, Ph. D., professor of chemistry, has received a $302,228 Research in Undergraduate Institutions (RUI) grant from the National Science Foundation for his proposal, “The Study of Molecular Motion in Simple Glass-Forming Liquids.”
Berberian hopes to further understand the forces involved in the behavior of simple glass- forming materials above and near the glass transition temperature, and points to practical applications for the research.
PHILADELPHIA (Oct. 2, 2012) – Saint Joseph’s University’s chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) will honor Sharon Pinkenson with the annual Marketer of the Year Award on Thursday, Oct. 4 at 11:30 a.m. in the Campion Student Center’s Doyle Banquet Hall.
What: The Kinney Center will host a carnival for families and donors, the SJU community, and the local autism community. The carnival is one of many events celebrating the official inauguration of C. PHILADELPHIA (Sept. 27, 2012) - The SJU Theatre Company is set to begin its 85th anniversary season with a production of the gripping musical Spring Awakening, which opens Thursday, Oct. 4, at 8 p.m. in Bluett Theatre and runs through Sunday, Oct. 7, at 2 p.m. Performances continue Oct. 18-20.
PHILADELPHIA (Sept. 26, 2012) - Saint Joseph’s University and Anne Welsh McNulty announced the fourth cohort of young women to receive the John P. McNulty Scholarship for Excellence in Science and Math. The three scholars, Christina Freeman of Hatboro, Pa.; Heidi Kurn, of Troy, Mich.; and Kathleen Logan of Springfield, Pa., will each receive a four-year, full-tuition, merit-based scholarship and will participate in an intensive mentoring and research program.
PHILADELPHIA (September 25, 2012) —Saint Joseph’s Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support will host a 5K Run and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk to raise money to support services for children with autism and their families. The race will take place on Sat., Oct. 13 from 8:30-10:30 a.m., on the James J. Maguire ’58 Campus.
