    PHILADELPHIA (September 30, 2013) – The SJU Theatre Company will perform Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt’s Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Next to Normal this fall. The show opens Wednesday, October 2, at 8 p.m., in Bluett Theatre and runs through Sunday, October 6.

    PHILADELPHIA (Sept. 25, 2013) – The Pedro Arrupe Center for Business Ethics at Saint Joseph’s University will host “Transforming Health Care Through Innovation,” its first Business Leaders Series discussion, on October 2, 2013 in the Wolfington Teletorium in Mandeville Hall. The reception will begin at 6 p.m. and the discussion will follow at 7 p.m.

    PHILADELPHIA (Sept. 24, 2013) — Saint Joseph’s University and Anne Welsh McNulty have awarded seven young women the John P. McNulty Scholarship for Excellence in Science and Math. Four of the scholars will receive four-year, full-tuition, merit-based scholarships and will participate in an intensive mentoring and research program. The remaining three scholars hold Associate positions, receiving partial-tuition scholarships, mentoring and research opportunities.

    SJU’s College of Arts and Sciences has invited Aquiline Tarimo, S.J., to serve as the Donald I. MacLean Chair for the 2013-14 academic year in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies. Father Tarimo is an associate professor of Christian social ethics at Hekima College in Nairobi, Kenya, a Constituent College of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa.

    PHILADELPHIA (Sept. 18, 2013) - Saint Joseph’s University's Haub School of Business (HSB) has moved to 101 — up from 117 —in U.S.News & World Report's 2014 edition of "Best Undergraduate Business Programs."

    The rankings, which were released on Sept. 13, also placed HSB's specialty programs in the top tier in their region. Insurance ranked No. 11, and Marketing (entertainment, food, international, pharmaceutical and healthcare, and sports) ranked No. 13.

    PHILADELPHIA (Sept. 18, 2013) – Saint Joseph's University's Academy of Risk Management and Insurance presented Pennsylvania's Deputy Insurance Commissioner Stephen Johnson with its inaugural Insurance Executive of the Year Award during a dinner and award presentation at the Union League of Philadelphia on Thursday, Sept. 26.

    PHILADELPHIA (September 11, 2013) — A promotional video shot by local CBR Productions for Saint Joseph’s University’s Kinney Center for Autism Education and Support earned an Emmy Award from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy for Television Arts. The video, shot on campus in the summer of 2012, won in the category Education/Schools, Program/Special.

    Two Saint Joseph’s University (SJU) marketing professors received the prestigious Journal for Advancement of Marketing Education (JAME) 2013 Best Paper Award. Brent Smith, Ph.D., associate professor of marketing and director of the Office of Fellowships, and Feng Shen, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Marketing, won the award for their article titled, “We All Think It’s Cheating. But We All Won’t Report It: Insights into the Ethics of Marketing Students.”

    PHILADELPHIA (Sept. 10, 2013) – Saint Joseph’s University is again one of the top 15 — at No. 11 — among 193 regional institutions (north) in U.S. News & World Report’s 2014 edition of Best Colleges.  The rankings, which were released on Sept. 10, placed Saint Joseph’s in the top tier in its region for the sixteenth consecutive year.

    PHILADELPHIA (September 9, 2013) — Saint Joseph's Haub School of Business recently added a degree completion program to its portfolio of programs. Designed for students considering beginning or completing their bachelor's degree in business, the new Haub Degree Completion Program enrolled its first students this fall.

    Saint Joseph’s University will hold its second annual “Wellness Week” Sept. 16-20 creating a University-wide effort to raise awareness of physical, mental and spiritual wellness. The Wellness Week Committee, made up of members from a dozen departments across campus, anticipates University-wide participation by students, faculty and staff in the week-long series of events and activities.
