    PHILADELPHIA (Feb.18, 2010) – The Annual Scholars’ Conference on the Holocaust and the Churches, an international conference dedicated to teaching, learning and remembering the lessons of the Holocaust while examining the churches’ struggle and failure to confront Nazi anti-Semitism and “the Final Solution,” will be held at Saint Joseph’s University from March 6-8.

    The spring semester’s Haub School of Business (HSB) Research Forum kicked off with a presentation on linguistics in survey research led by Assistant Professor of Management Lucy Ford, Ph.D.

    The classroom was packed with faculty members attending the presentation on Thursday, Jan. 28, in Mandeville Hall. A lively discussion was held about how our understanding of language, and by extension our comprehension of survey questions, is driven by our individual life experiences.

    Saint Joseph's University’s Cap and Bells Dramatic Arts Society will continue its 82nd season this month with J.T. Rogers’ dark comedy White People. The show opens Thursday, Feb. 18, at 8 p.m. in Bluett Theatre and runs through Sunday, Feb. 28.

    PHILADELPHIA (February 15, 2010) - In memory of the 305 Philadelphia homicide victims of last year, Saint Joseph’s University students and members of the community will light 305 candles at an interdenominational prayer service to be held in the Chapel of St. Joseph-Michael J. Smith, S.J. Memorial, at Cardinal and City Avenues on Thursday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m.

    PHILADELPHIA (Feb. 2, 2010) - In a new spin on an established class, students enrolled in Joe Powers’ ’71 state and local government course will spend the spring 2010 semester not just learning about the people and processes of our three-tiered government system, but learning from them. The goal of the five-guest series, says Powers, is to foster a greater understanding and knowledge of what government service, specifically at the state and local level, actually entails.
