What Sets Our Program Apart

  • The entertainment marketing major teaches students how traditional marketing practices are applied and often rewritten in the world of entertainment through specialized courses and interaction with industry entertainers and entertainment executives.

As an entertainment marketing major, you will learn about consumer and buyer behavior and what influences buying decisions. You will also learn how to conduct marketing research, the principles of marketing and entertainment law.

  • By learning and applying the creative process, you will study how to attract fans, customers and professional opportunities. In addition to general marketing courses, the entertainment marketing curriculum includes a focus on entertainment law, the music industry and sports marketing.

  • You can pursue a major in entertainment marketing or an entertainment marketing minor if you are majoring in another discipline. Many students often decide to double major or add minors to their studies. Some common additional areas of study that students interested in major also pursue include:

    • Communication Studies
    • Spanish
    • International Relations
    • Theatre and Film
  • Students are encouraged to apply for Saint Joseph's University's American Marketing Association chapter, which is focused on helping students prepare for successful careers in marketing. The American Marketing Association's events and opportunities at Saint Joseph's University include:

    • Monthly meetings with marketing professionals and career advisors
    • Networking opportunities with professionals in entertainment marketing
    • Leadership positions and corresponding committees within Saint Joseph's University's American Marketing Association
    • Events where students can compete against one another using real-world marketing scenarios
  • Saint Joseph’s University offers an accelerated bachelor’s/master’s program that allows current undergraduate students to start earning their MBA or Master of Science in organization development and leadership during their senior year. This model enables you to complete your undergraduate and graduate work in just five years, instead of the traditional six or seven. Combining your bachelor’s with a master’s degree can help you save time and money.

Entertainment marketing majors interested in this unique option must apply to the graduate program in their junior year and be provisionally accepted before they complete their bachelor’s degree.

Saint Joseph's University students studying entertainment marketing have gone on to become:
