Wednesday, November 6, 2013 – Formal announcement of the 2014 Summer Scholars Program to eligible students via e-mail.
Thursday, November 14, 2013 - First information session (Free period, North Lounge, Campion) for students interested in the SSP.
Tuesday, November 26, 2013 - Second information session (Free period, North Lounge, Campion) for students interested in the SSP.
December (day TBD), 2013 – Electronic application system becomes activated.
Friday, February 7, 2014 – Deadline for submission of completed application, and proposal. All materials must be submitted using the electronic application system.
Monday, February 17, 2014 - 2 letters of recommendation, one from your prospective mentor and one from another person who knows you well, are due. We will contact the references you list on your application to request the letters.
Friday, February 28 , 2014 – Departments will submit prioritized lists of students to be supported by the Summer Scholars program.
March 3 -7, 2014 – The Summer Scholars Committee will review the applications and make awards based on departmental and faculty recommendations and the amount of funding available.
Monday, March 17, 2014 – Letters will be sent (by e-mail only) to all applicants indicating whether or not they have been selected for the 2014 Summer Scholars Program.
Friday, March 21, 2014 – Deadline for students offered 2014 Summer Scholars positions to accept or decline the position. In the event that positions are declined, positions will be offered to students on the alternate list.
Friday, March 28, 2014 – Deadline for alternates to accept or decline positions (if available)
Friday, April 11, 2014 – Deadline for 2013 Summer Scholars to complete and submit all required paperwork for human resources (and residence life, if on-campus housing was requested). Failure to complete required paperwork by this deadline may result in withdraw of the award.
Sunday, May 18, 2014 (Date to be confirmed) – Move in date for students granted on-campus housing. No other move in dates will be scheduled except by arrangment between the student and Residence Life. Housing is provided for 11.5 weeks.
Monday, May 19, 2014 – Formal start of the 2014 Summer Scholars Program (some scholars may start at other times as approved by their mentors); Summer Scholars and Faculty Mentors reception (time and location TBA)
Friday, August 1, 2014 (Date to be confirmed) – Formal conclusion of the 2014 Summer Scholars Program and last day to move out day for students with on-campus housing.
November, 2014 – Annual Summer Scholars Dinner (date and location TBA)
March/April 2015 – Celebration of Student Achievement (dates and locations TBA)
