April 23, 2015 - Philadelphia Mayoral Debate

Fox29 hosted its Philadelphia Democratic Mayoral Debate at SJU on April 23, 2015 here at the Teletorium. SJU Political Science students were part of the panel asking questions and had the chance to introduce themselves during the program.

April 21, 2015 - Students Lobby in Harrisburg & Meet the Governor

On April 21, 2015, a number of POL students went to Harrisburg with SJU President Gillespie and a delegation from Government & Community Relations to take part in Student Lobbying Day with the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Pennsylvania. There were many highlights, including having the chance to meet with Governor Wolf and alums Katie McGinty (the Governor's Chief of Staff) and Senator Dominic Pileggi.

November 25, 2014 - Former Governor Ed Rendell Visits Campus to Discuss the 2014 Elections



Governor Ed Rendell visited campus on November 25, 2014 and discussed the implications of the 2014 elections for governing. He had an interesting strategy for "provoking" cooperation between the parties and for encouraging Democrats and Republicans  to address the serious issues (immigration reform, infrastructure improvement, etc.) the U.S. is facing. Here's the Governor with some of our students.
