Getting to know Julia ...
What is your favorite thing to do in Philadelphia?
I have lived all over the place, but Philadelphia is my favorite city, so it's hard to choose just one thing about it that I love! One of my favorite weekend activities is going to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, especially visiting the cloister that was moved from France or the Japanese Tea Garden. I am also a diehard Phillies phan, and there are few things that make me happier than being at Citizens Bank Park, eating a cheesesteak and watching a game! I also love wandering around Old City and grabbing a delicious ice cream concoction from Franklin Fountain, an old-fashioned ice cream parlor right by Penn's Landing. There is so much to do here, and I love that I am always finding something new and exciting.
What would you do over again from your college experience, if you had the chance?
I wish I had taken the time to explore the city around me earlier on in my time at school. My campus had a lot of great activities, but it wasn't until my junior year that I really tried to explore the city I was living in, which I really came to love. There were so many great restaurants and fun things to do that certainly enhanced my last two years, but I wish I had known about them earlier!
What is your favorite thing about working in admissions?
I love getting to know the students, especially when I get to meet them in person or read their essays. Getting to know a student's personality makes the whole process so much more fun, and I love helping students find the school that is the best fit for them!
