How to Apply
Are you ready to achieve what you never thought was possible? The College of Professional and Liberal Studies is ready to support you from application to graduation. Upon submitting your application, our admissions team will be in touch to discuss next steps. We encourage applicants to apply several weeks before the term begins, however, applications are considered any time, on a rolling basis.
- Qualifications for admission:
- Online or paper application
- Official sealed transcript(s) from each institution attended
- If you have fewer than 30 college-level credits, a high school transcript or equivalent is required
- Personal statement: outlining your professional goals and educational objectives

Types of Admissions
Full Admission - Degree Candidate
Transfer students are required to have a minimum cumulative average of 2.5 for full acceptance.
Academically qualified international students and international transfer students interested in earning an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree at Saint Joseph's University are encouraged to apply to the College of Professional and Liberal Studies. Credentials of students residing outside the United States must be received and evaluated at least 60 days before the term begins. Credentials of all international students within the United States must be received at least 30 days before the intended start semester. Applications must be complete before admissions review will be conducted.
The Bridge Program
This program enables students (22 years or older) to take day courses either on a full-time or part-time basis or in combination with evening courses. Bridge students are enrolled as PLS students and may choose a major and curriculum outlined in the day or the PLS catalog. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required for college transfer students. The Bridge Program does not require entrance examinations or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).
Applicants with a high school average of less than 80 or a college cumulative average of 2.5 or less may be accepted to the Arts and Science Opportunity Program or the Business Opportunity Program. Students accepted to this program must be selected and are required to fulfill the program requirements as outlined by the Director of Admissions.
Students who currently attend another University and wish to take a class at Saint Joseph's University can do so by providing the following information:
- Completed Visitor Form
- A letter from your current university giving you permission to take the specific course.
- Registration Form
